Janakpurdham Unveils Rs 2.65 Billion Budget with Focus on Clean City and Tourism
Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City has unveiled its policies, programmes, and budget for the fiscal year 2083/84, placing priority on transforming the city into a clean, attractive, and well-managed urban centre.
Presenting the policies and programmes during the 15th Municipal Assembly on Monday, Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah said the local government has given special emphasis to the development of tourism infrastructure to realize its vision of a "Clean and Prosperous Janakpurdham."
Mayor Sah stated that education, healthcare, and infrastructure development would remain key priorities in the coming fiscal year. He also said that projects currently under implementation would be expedited to ensure their timely completion.
The Sub-metropolitan City has approved a budget of Rs 2.65 billion for the upcoming fiscal year.
The budget was presented by Ward No. 16 Chairperson Ram Chandra Panjiyar during the municipal assembly. Of the total allocation, Rs 1.42 billion has been earmarked for recurrent expenditure, while Rs 1.22 billion has been allocated for capital expenditure.
Sector-wise, the budget allocates Rs 59 million for economic development, Rs 832 million for social development, Rs 912 million for infrastructure development, Rs 317 million for good governance and related sectors, and Rs 530 million for office management and administrative expenses.
