Investment Board Approves Rs. 36.37 Arba Investment in Hydropower Projects

The Board of Investment has given its approval for an investment of Rs. 36 Arba 37 crores in four hydropower projects.
The decision was made during the 55th meeting of the board, which was chaired by Prime Minister and Chairman of the Investment Board, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda,' held on Friday.
According to the Office of the Board of Investment, a total investment of Rs. 36.37 Arba has been green-lighted for the Rolwaling Khola, Chhujung Khola, Dana Khola, and Saniveri Hydropower Projects.
During the meeting, held at the Investment Board office in Baneshwor, it was decided to establish a high-level committee to assess the progress made so far in the implementation of the Tamor Reservoir Hydropower Project. This committee will also provide recommendations on the project's future direction.
Additionally, the board approved a study permit for Dolma Himalayan Energy to conduct a study for a 245 MW solar energy project with a 20 MW battery capacity in Rajpur Rural Municipality of Dang District.
The board acknowledged the detailed feasibility study report submitted by Region Energy Co Ltd for the development of 250 MW of solar energy in Kohalpur, Banke, and Wanganga, Kapilvastu.
Furthermore, the board decided to propose to the Council of Ministers the implementation of the directive order issued by the Supreme Court concerning the Upper Karnali Hydropower Project.
The meeting also gave the green light to the draft agreement for collaboration with Reinicolasden BAD of Malaysia regarding the establishment of a chemical fertilizer factory (green calcium ammonium nitrate) in Nepal.
