India foreign minister meets Chaudhary
KATHMANDU, July 17:
Binod Chaudhary, the president of Chaudhary Group, met with Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi, India, on Thursday, the conglomerate said in a statement. Convener of Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party (OFBJP) Vijay Jolly was also present in the meeting, according to the Chaudhary Group.
During the meeting, Chaudhary, said every day 1,500 young Nepalis migrate overseas in search of employment.
“This brain drain of Nepal should stop immediately and for this the Government of India should help Nepal with special economic zone (SEZ) business corridors on the eastern & western Indo-Nepal borders,” the statement quotes Chaudhary as saying. “India should gift an 800 megawatt power plant to Nepal to meet the power shortage there and for the promotion of Indo- Nepal friendship & understanding,” Chaudhary suggested, according to the statement.
