Inaugural Bishwa Darshan Yoga Competition Enlightens School-Level Participants

Bishwa Darshan Abhiyan Nepal successfully concluded the 'First Bishwa Darshan Yoga Competition,' bringing together over 150 students from 13 different schools in the capital. Held at Changunarayan-4, Nepal Engineering College, Bhaktapur, the competition showcased the fusion of yoga, ancient philosophy, and education.
Participants, selected from a pool of around 8,000 students, were grouped by class and engaged in a spirited display of various yoga postures. The event aimed to intertwine yoga and ancient philosophy with education, imparting knowledge about Nepal's rich philosophy, civilization, and culture to the younger generation.
Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the chairman of Bishwa Darshan Abhiyan Nepal, expressed the organization's commitment to connecting yoga with education. The program emphasized the importance of balanced enjoyment as the foundation of yoga, promoting holistic well-being among future generations.
Binod Dhakal, a member of the organization, highlighted the historic nature of the competition, marking the first school-level Vishwadarshan Yoga Competition in Nepal. He expressed optimism that more schools would participate in the future, advocating for yoga to become a compulsory subject at the school level.
The competition recognized outstanding performers in different categories, with Nikhchika Paudel (Highly Creative School) and Rajat Magar (Sriyantra School) winning the top spots in their respective groups. Trophies, medals, certificates, cash prizes, and consolation trophies were awarded to the first, second, and third-place winners.
The chief guest of the event, Upendra Karki, head of Kageshwari, Manohara Municipality, Kathmandu, commended the program for inspiring students toward yoga education. Special recognition was given to Tribhuvan University Yoga Department Professor Dr. T.P. Dhamala Krishnasharan and Dr. Anand Gaire for their efficient contributions to the competition.
Bishwa Darshan Abhiyan Nepal, a dedicated yogic and spiritual organization, has been actively conducting programs related to yoga, spirituality, and eastern philosophy for over a decade.
