In the Week of Tihar, Commercial Bank Reports Total Deposit Decline by Rs. 17 Billion; What is the Present CD Ratio?

Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) has released a thorough study on the deposit and lending trends in the country's commercial banks. This data is current as of second week of Kartik, 2079. The CD ratio was 87.23% as of Kartik 11, 2079. However, the same ratio as of 14th Kartik stood at 87.24%.

In the second week of Kartik month, the total amount of deposits decreased by Rs. 17 billion (Arba), reaching Rs. 4524 billion. In the first week of an ongoing month, this figure had fallen by Rs. 6 billion from the week before that. Deposits totaling Rs. 4407 billion being made in local currency, with the remaining Rs. 117 billion being made in foreign currency.

Compared to the previous week's report, the overall amount of lending is stable at Rs. 4225 billion. Lending of Rs. 4195 billion has been sent in local currency, while Rs. 31 billion has been sent in foreign currency.
