Import-Export report released for Bhadra: Here's a quick and simple summary

The Department of Customs has published the statistic of foreign trade of Nepal till Bhadra of FY 2077/78.

According to the data published, the imports have fallen by 22.07% in the second month of FY 2077/78. Likewise, the exports have increased by 10.49% in comparison to the same period of 2076/77.

The highest import in Nepal has been coming from India followed by China. Argentina, the Republic of Korea, and Canada are other major exporters to Nepal. Our trade deficit with India has reached Rs 1.05 Kharba in the first two months of this fiscal year. Similarly, with China, we have a deficit of Rs 24 Arba.

Our largest importer is India with total exports of Rs 14.42 Arba in the second month of FY 2077/78. Similarly, the US is Nepal's second-largest importer with 2.31 Arba of imports. Germany and the UK are other major importers for Nepal.

In total, we have a trade deficit of Rs 1.58 Kharba, imports of Rs 1.78 Kharba, and exports of 20.44 Arba.

Similarly, if we look at the product-wise export then the most exported product from Nepal is Soyabean oil and fractions with total exports worth of Rs 5.47 Arba followed by Black Tea at Rs 1.53 Arba.

Similarly, telephones for cellular or other wireless networks are the highest imported products. Interestingly, Nepal imports more value of telephones than Diesel, which comes third in the import value with 5.05 Arba. Semi-finished metal products are the second-most imported commodities.
