Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' announced that seven crucial documents were signed and exchanged during his official visit to India. The Prime Minister made this statement while responding to questions raised by the opposition party during a meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday.
During his visit, PM Dhala expressed his belief that the foundation stone for the Bhairahawa Sunauli Integrated Check Post had been laid. The check post, which will be constructed with the financial and technical support of the Government of India, aims to facilitate efficient cross-border trade between Nepal and India.
Furthermore, PM Dahal unveiled plans for the second phase of construction of the Amlekhgunj Petroleum Pipeline. The foundation stone for this project was laid during his visit, and it was also agreed to extend the pipeline to Lothar in Chitwan. The pipeline project holds immense importance for Nepal as it will enhance the country's fuel supply infrastructure, ensuring a more reliable and efficient energy network.
Additionally, Nepali Prime Minister inaugurated the Butwal-Gorakhpur 400 KV international transmission line. This transmission line serves as a critical link between Nepal and India's power grids, enabling the exchange of electricity between the two countries. The project will bolster energy co-operation and support the development of both nations.
Prachanda's four-day official visit to India took place from May 31 to June 03, marking his first visit since assuming office in December of the previous year. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral ties between Nepal and India and foster cooperation in various sectors, including trade, energy, and infrastructure development, among others.
The signed documents signify the commitment of both nations to deepen their partnership and enhance regional connectivity.
