Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Ltd. has announced a complete shutdown of its Mai Khola Small Hydropower Project (4.5 MW) and Mai Small Cascade Hydropower Project (8 MW) following severe damage caused by continuous rainfall and flooding.
According to the company, persistent rainfall on Ashwin 18, 2082 (October 4, 2025), led to significant destruction of infrastructure at both hydropower facilities. The ongoing high water levels have made it impossible to conduct a detailed assessment or valuation of the damage so far.
The company stated that both projects remain non-operational due to these unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances. The information has been disclosed in compliance with Regulation 22 of the Securities Listing Regulations, 2075 (2018). Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company assured that further details regarding the extent of damage and restoration plans will be communicated once the situation stabilizes and evaluations are completed.
