Highly volatile market ends with 0.29 points loss after gaining almost 16 points

NEPSE index has declined slightly by 0.29 points to close at 1,205.64 points. The market was increasing during the day which was speculate to be due to the unveiling of the monetary policy. However, the market closed in a negative note. The decrease in individual overdraft loan limit seems to have highly influenced today’s trade.

The total turnover for the day was of Rs 47.95 crore which was achieved through the exchange of 12,67,531 unit shares. The shares of 171 listed companies were exchanged during the trading period through 4,783 transactions.

The promoter shares of Prime Life Insurance Company (PLICPO) stood ahead in terms of total turnover as the shares worth more than Rs 10.72 crore were exchanged during the trading period. It was also ahead in terms of units of shares traded as 3,57,476 units were traded during the day.

The shareholders of NMB Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (NMBMF) earned the most today as the price increased by 140 points and its LTP stands at Rs 1,540. However, the shareholders of Everest Bank Limited Con. Pref. (EBLCP) lost the most during the day’s trade as the price decreased by 37 points and the LTP stood at Rs 617.

Sensitive index decreased by 0.08 points and float index decreased by 0.01 points.

Out of the sub-indices, Banking, Hotels and Manufacturing & Production ended in red zone. Hotels decreased by 86.42 points whereas Microfinance sector gained 28.45 points.
