Govt to unveil Rs 12.80 kharba budget today

The government is set to present annual budget worth Rs 12 kharba and 80 arba today for the upcoming fiscal year 2074/75. As per the existing provision in the constitution, the annual budget should be presented at the Parliament on Jestha 15 every year. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister will present the budget today at the Parliament meeting later today on behalf of the current caretaker government led by ex-Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The new budget will allocate large sum to the newly formed local levels, energy, education, agriculture, health and poverty. As per the Finance Ministry, the budget will prioritize implementation of constitution and elections and local levels.
