Govt To Unveil Policies and Programmes for Upcoming FY 080/081 in Parliament Today

The government of Nepal is set to disclose it's policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year 2080/81 in the parliament today.

A joint session of both the houses in the federal parilament has been scheduled for today at 4:00 pm. In the session, incumbent President Ram Chandra Paudel will present the policies and programmes in his address in the parliament.

The Constitution of Nepal constitutes a provision to present the annual fiscal budget on Jestha 15 each year. Before the presentation of the budget, the President has to disclose the policies and programmes of the government, which determines government's plan of action.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in his recent addresses has indicated that the upcoming policies, programmes, and budget will emphazise on increasing production and employment generation.

However, Minister of Finance Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat had earlier publicly stated not to expect a large budget this year in consideration of the ongoing economic recession.
