Govt. to allow various hydropower projects and industries for the use of national forest area

The government has decided to allow various hydropower projects and industries for the use of national forest area. The recent meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to permit three hydropower projects including Upper Kalangagad with the capacity of 38.46 MW, Maruti Cement Ltd and Satya Sahi Coal Pvt Ltd to use the forest area.

A temporary quarantine check post would be set up at Nagdhunga of Kathmandu and Rasuwagadhi of Rasuwa under the Livestock Quarantine Office, Kathmandu.

The government also took decision on some promotion and installation of the ministry secretaries and joint secretary. First class Joint Secretary has been promoted and installed at the Office of Chief Minister of Gandaki State. Similarly, Kebal Prasad Bhandari is installed as Chief Secretary at Karnali State and Secretary Chandra Ghimire at Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.

Moreover, Secretary Ram Prasad Thapaliya has been installed at Health Ministry and Secretary Kedar Neupane at Kathmandu Metropolis as chief administrative officer, and Secretary Yadav Prasad Koirala at the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

Traffic Police Incentive Directive 2075 has been approved by the Cabinet meeting. The government also decided for presenting Nepal Academy of Science and Technology Act 2048 (amendment bill), Nepal Media Council amendment bill and a bill on amendment and integration of laws on forest.
