Government Updates Civil Service Salary Scale for FY 2083/84, Effective From Shrawan
The Ministry of Finance has issued the updated salary scale for fiscal year 2083/84 BS, effective from the start of this month Shrawan. The Council of Ministers approved the new salary scale, grades, technical grade and incentive allowances at it's metting on July 22. The ministry formally notified government agencies of the details in a letter sent Wednesday.
The revision follows the government's May 29 budget announcement of a 10 percent salary hike along with a 10 percent incentive allowance.
The new scale, spanning schedules one to eight, applies to civil servants, Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Health Service and Parliament Service employees, public school teachers, and provincial and local-level employees (for pension purposes). Beneficiaries will also receive a grade amount equal to one day's salary and a 10 percent monthly incentive allowance on the revised pay.
Under the new scale, the Chief Secretary's starting salary is set at Rs 84,932. The gazetted special category will receive Rs 79,290, while the Additional Secretary's salary stands at Rs 66,539 (for pension purposes).
Among gazetted officers, first class salaries are fixed at Rs. 62,466 second class officers at Rs. 53,611 and third class at Rs. 48,058.
For non gazetted staff first additional value pension is set at Rs. 41, 517, first class officers at Rs. 38,203, second additional value pension at Rs 37,407, second-class officers at Rs 36,192, and third-class officers at Rs 30,373. Fourth-class salaries have also been specified.
