Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that the government will be focused on improving the country's economy.

During a meeting with office-bearers of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Prime Minister Dahal said he was well aware of the problems facing the country's economy. "The country's economy is going through complex and challenging times. The government is aware of the increased interest rates and liquidity crunch. It will now focus on ways to improve the economy," he said.

The government was committed to converting the current challenge of the economy into opportunity. "It is the responsibility of all to save the country's economy through collective efforts. The government will move ahead prioritizing the public-private partnership."

Similarly, NCC Chairperson Rajendra Malla drew the government's attention to the present economic condition and added that an investment-friendly environment has not been created due to high-interest rates and liquidity crunch. "Single-digit interest rate should be maintained to achieve government's goal double-digit economic growth."

The NCC on the occasion also submitted an eight-point memorandum to PM Dahal.
