Government Honors Top Taxpayers Across 16 Categories, Recognizing Contributions to National Revenue

The government has honored the companies that paid the highest taxes in various 16 categories during the fiscal year 2079/80. Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, the Finance Minister, conferred the honors today.

The recognition ceremony took place on the occasion of the National Tax Day 2080. The Internal Revenue Department annually acknowledges outstanding taxpayers. The following companies were recognized:

1) Highest Income Tax Payer: Nepal Telecom
2) Export Business: Dabur Nepal Pvt. Ltd.
3) Special Industry: Asian Paints
4) Agriculture and Livestock: OBC Foods Pvt. Ltd.
5) Cooperative and Microfinance: Chhimek Microfinance
6) Banking and Financial Institution: Global IME Bank
7) Insurance: Life Insurance Corporation Nepal
8) Health and Education: Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital
9) Tourism: Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd.
10) Trade: Bhatbhateni Supermarket
11) Medium Taxpayer: Nepal Stock Exchange Limited
12) Energy: Bhotekoshi Power Company
13) Remittance: IME Limited
14) Individual Income: Vijay Kumar Shah
15) Outstanding Tax Compliance and Timely Payment (Institutional): Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. (Honored in two categories)

This recognition aims to appreciate the contribution of these entities to the national revenue and encourage timely and transparent tax compliance.
