The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs, has officially announced a nationwide public holiday on Thursday, Jestha 14, 2083, on the auspicious occasion of Bakra Eid (Eid-ul-Azha). According to the executive notice issued by the ministry, the decision follows the annual holiday schedule previously published in the Nepal Gazette and comes after formal confirmation from the Muslim Commission regarding the exact date of the festival. In the statement, the ministry also extended its heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Islamic followers and the entire Nepali community living both within the country and abroad.

This announcement effectively sets off a continuous four day long weekend across the nation, offering a significant break for government offices, educational institutions, and the banking sector. Immediately following the Bakra Eid celebration, Friday, Jestha 15 is already a pre scheduled national holiday in observance of Republic Day (Ganatantra Diwas). As this is followed by the standard weekly weekend holidays on Saturday (Jestha 16) and Sunday (Jestha 17), regular operations nationwide will completely pause for four consecutive days, with offices and services set to resume normal operations on Monday, Jestha 18, 2083.
