Four-Sided Boundary of Zoo to be Built, Fixed in Birgunj
The Planned Zoo to Cover 50 Hectares of Forest Area
The Ministry of Forests and Environment has announced the allocation of four designated areas for the construction of a zoo in Birgunj. The ministry recently published an official notice in the gazette, confirming the designation of the char fort.
According to the ministry, a natural zoo will be established across a 50-hectare expanse within the Sabaya Partnership Forest, situated in Birgunj Metropolitan City-32.
As part of the ministry's plans, the natural zoo will encompass the following regions: the Ramwan settlement to the east, the Solakhpur road to the west, the area extending from the 10-bigaha fence to the Vedaha River to the north, and the Tighare area community forest to the south.
Earlier, on August 27, 2079, the government had made a decision to establish a community forest. In line with this decision, the ministry has now designated four specific areas as forts for the zoo project.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance has approved a budget of Rs 10 crore for the zoo. These funds will be utilized for the construction of fences within the zoo premises, the development of master plans, and other associated tasks.
