The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a significant increase in the prices of petroleum products, effective from midnight, April 09, 2026 (Chaitra 26, 2082 BS).

The state owned utility has raised the prices of petrol by Rs. 17 and diesel, kerosene by Rs 25 per liter. Additionally, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for cooking has increased by Rs 100 per cylinder, while Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has seen a hike of Rs 6 per liter.

Reason for Hike

The NOC cited the ongoing conflict in West Asia as the primary driver for the adjustment, noting that the tension has caused a continuous surge in international oil prices. Despite utilizing the Price Stabilization Fund to cushion the impact, the corporation projected a staggering loss of Rs 7.81 billion over the next 15 days without this price revision.
