First week of Magh sees 0.2% growth in deposits and 1.03% growth in lending of commercial banks; Lending rises by Rs 18.62 arba more than deposits

The deposits in commercial banks are in an increasing trend throughout all the Fiscal Years (FY) from 2072/73 till Poush of this FY.
According to the data provided by Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA), the deposit figure of the collective commercial banking sector is shown below:

Similarly, we can also see a steady rise in the lending portfolio of commercial banks of Nepal. The overall lending amount stands as follows:

The second quarter of FY 2075/76 has already ended and the deposit and lending figure of Commercial banks during the 8 months are shown below:

As discussed earlier, both the deposits and lending figure are steadily rising. However, if we see closely we can see that the lending has increased by 1.03% from the last week of Poush, whereas the deposits has increased by 0.2% only. The percentage discrepancy might seem small but if we see the figures, the deposits has increased by Rs 5.41 arba only, whereas the lending has increased by Rs 24.03 arba.
