Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has pledged to transform Nepal into a nation driven by citizens committed to economic development and national progress. He made the remarks during a meeting with business leaders affiliated with the Nepal Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering a strong partnership with the private sector, Minister Wagle said, “The government is determined to establish a solid collaboration with private entities for the reinforcement of our national economy.”

He assured businesspersons that private enterprises would receive all necessary facilitation for the development and expansion of industries. “All sides’ cooperation is imperative for nation-building. Let’s work together for a robust economy. The State provides and protects your rights to speed up and expand,” he reiterated.

In his address, the Minister highlighted the importance of industrial growth and entrepreneurship. “To promote industries and entrepreneurship, the government will actively seek suggestions from the private sector,” he noted. He also called for honest and transparent cooperation from businesses in the State’s economic development efforts.

Minister Wagle underscored the need for accountability, reminding the delegation that while the government encourages private sector growth, “coordinated and sponsored irregularities will not be spared.”

The Finance Minister also addressed concerns raised by business leaders regarding Nepal’s upcoming graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category. “We have taken your worries into account, but I want to assure you that the LDC graduation will not create an immediate worrisome situation for the country,” he said.

The meeting reflected a shared commitment to strengthening Nepal’s economy through constructive dialogue and collaboration between the government and private sector, signaling a new phase of economic planning and industrial development.
