Finance Minister Poudel assumes office

Newly appointed Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has assumed office on Thursday. While assuming the office, Finance Minister Poudel urged the Ministry officials to work actively to implement government's policy and programmes of the government. He requested them not be swayed by any political ideology while discharging duty. "The first priority of the government is to protect and implement the constitution and lead the country towards economic prosperity," he added. The Minister further said his priority would be the transparency on revenue administration, emphasis on tax-friendly environment, acceleration of big development venture while monitoring development expenditure, proper use of donors' assistance.
