Festive period restricts turnover at Rs 14.05 crore; Market registers increment of 4.89 points

The local bourse at Nepal Stock Exchange has recorded increment of 4.89 points to end the day’s trade. Direct effect of the ongoing festive period was seen as the turnover for the day stood at Rs 14.05 crore which was achieved through the exchange of more than 7 lakh unit shares.
The market which had started at 1,241.63 points increased by 0.39% to close at 1,246.52 points. The shares of 124 listed companies were exchanged through 2,204 transactions.
Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) was ahead in terms of turnover and units traded. During the 4 hour period, 1,28,330 units shares of Prabhu Bank worth Rs 3.16 crore was exchanged.
Similarly, the shareholders of Bhargav Bikas Bank Limited (BHBL) earned the most as the price of the stock increased by 9 points and its LTP stood at Rs 153. However, the shareholders of Mirmire Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MMFDB) lost the most during the day as the price decreased by 63 points.
Both the sensitive index and float index increased by 1.18 points and 0.43 points respectively.
Out of the sub-indices, Hotels, Hydropower, Non Life Insurance, Manufacturing and Production and Microfinance sector ended in the red zone. Life Insurance sector increased by 34.7 points whereas Hotels decreased by 15,12 points.
