Deposit Collection Spikes in Ending of Ashwin, Lending Up by Rs. 27 Billion; Present CD Ratio Stands 86.91%

Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) has released a thorough study on the deposit and lending trends in the country's commercial banks. This data is current as of the ending of Ashwin, 2079. The CD ratio was 87.20% as of Ashwin 31, 2079. However, the same ratio as of 2nd Kartik stood at 86.91%.

In the ending of Ashwin month, the total amount of deposits increased by Rs. 28 billion (Arba), reaching Rs. 4547 billion. In the fourth week of an ongoing month, this figure had risen by Rs. 8 billion from the week before that. Deposits totaling Rs. 4431 billion being made in local currency, with the remaining Rs. 117 billion being made in foreign currency.

Compared to the previous week's report, the overall amount of lending has also gone up by Rs. 27 billion Arba, reaching Rs. 4220 billion. Lending of Rs. 4190 billion has been sent in local currency, while Rs. 31 billion has been sent in foreign currency.
