Daily Market Summary: NEPSE Gains Indecisive 5.51 Points and Closes at 2,524.50

The NEPSE index closed at 2,524.50 today after gaining a minimal 5.51 points from yesterday's closing. This is a gain of 0.22% on the index. The index had lost 2.66 points yesterday.
228 scrips traded hands via 42,512 transactions. The Float index is at 172.99 after gaining 0.13% while the Sensitive index gained 0.05% and is now at 471.24.
Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 52.55 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 6,870 per share. The shares of Nepal Bangladesh Bank Limited (NBB) traded the most.
Madhya Bhotekoshi Jalavidyut Company Limited (MBJC) gained 9.99%, hence hitting the positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Narayani Development Bank Limited (NABBC) lost the highest 3.39%.
Eight sector indices gained and five others closed red. "Non-Life Insurance" gained the highest 2.21%, and "Development Bank" lost the most 0.7%.
Technical Analysis Highlight
The index opened at 2,520.55 and created the intraday low at 2,513.14. It then went as high as 2,538.65, before closing at 2,524.50. This has led to the formation of a small body green candle.
Furthermore, a total of 5,638,279 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 3.623 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 3.125 Arba.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 49.17. The reading was at 48.68 yesterday. The RSI breaking above 50 would indicate intermediate-term upwards momentum.
Meanwhile, both the MACD line and the signal line are still negative, i.e. below zero, with the MACD reading at -33.08. This reading was at -38.50 yesterday. The MACD line has crossed over the signal line last week, indicating a mild bullish sentiment. However, the crossover would have been more significant if the MACD reading was positive.
