The services provided by merchant banks and capitals will now be provided virtually except for special conditions. Issuing a joint notice today, 24 merchant banks and capitals have informed clients that they will now operate digitally in order to curb virus spread.

Nepal's neighboring country India reported on Thursday 3,14,835 new cases of the coronavirus over the previous 24 hours, the highest daily increase recorded anywhere, as its second wave and similar surges elsewhere in the world raised new fears about the virus. The second wave of the pandemic has also already hit Nepal, with daily cases growing exponentially. Furthermore, employees of the merchant banks have also been tested positive during the last few days. As such, the merchant banks find it necessary to digitize services and prevent physical crowding unless extremely necessary.

Customers are instructed to contact their respective merchant bank via phone calls, email, or other virtual media. The services that will be provided by the merchant banks have been featured on their respective websites.
