Congratulations!!! Nanda Kishor Pun elected as the Vice President of Nepal; 325 MPs voted for Mr. Pun

Congratulations!!! to Nanda Kishor Pun for being elected as the Vice President of Nepal.  Voting had started from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The results were announced at 5 PM. Standing Committee member of the UCPN (Maoist), Nanda Kishor Pun, and leader of Nepali congress, Amiya Kumar Yadav, had filed their candidacy to the post. Mr. Pun received 325 votes while Mr. Yadav secured 212 votes out of 547 votes casted. 10 votes were disqualified. The agitating Madhesi parties have boycotted this election. After the promulgation of new constitution through the Constituent Assembly, the Legislature-Parliament has elected the Vice President for the first time. On October 28 the same parliament elected Bidhya Devi Bhandari for the post of president of Nepal. Brief Biography of Nanda Kishor Pun
