Commercial Banks Reports Higher Deposit Than Lending in Fourth Week of Jestha; Present CD Ratio Stands 89.78%

Nepal Bankers' Association (NBA) has unveiled an elaborate report on the trend of deposit and lending in the Nation's Commercial banks. This is the data reported as of fourth week of Jestha, 2079. The CD ratio till 27 Jestha, 2079 was 90.22%. However, the same ratio of 30th Jestha is 89.78%.

The total deposit figure has risen by Rs. 3 billion in the fourth week of Jestha, and the figure is at Rs. 4393 billion. In the third week of Jestha, this figure had risen by Rs. 7 billion from the week before that. In total Rs. 4281 billion worth of deposits are in local currency while the rest Rs. 112 billion is in foreign currency.

Meanwhile, the total lending has fallen by Rs. 2 billion, and the total figure is at Rs. 4194 billion. Rs. 4155 billion worth of lending has been forwarded in local currency while Rs. 39 billion is in foreign currency.
