Chhaya center inaugurated as the "Thamel inside Thamel"; Center expected to be the hub for Kathmandu

A new mall named "Chhaya Center"has been inaugurated at the tourism center of Kathmandu -- Thamel.The complex has been named "Thamel inside Thamel" or "Mini-Thamel" because it comprises of all the prodcuts and services available in Thamel. The complex houses 3 multiplex cinema theaters alomg with numerous retail shops, airlines office, travel agency, banquet hall, seminar hall, reception hall, restaurant, clubs and business spaces covering 15 Ropani area.

In additioon to that, they also have a chain of famous five star hotel Marriot, named Aloft hotel. The hotel will come into operation from March of 2019. The construction of Chhaya ceneter had begun from 2013 under the leadership of Prithvi Bahadur Pandey, Chairman of Nepal Investment Bank, but due to the unfortunate incidence of earthquake and economic blockade, the opening has delayed by around a year.

Nevertheless, the gigantic complex shows huge prospects. Speaking at the program, Mr Pandey mentioned that the parking space of Chhaya center can fit in 360-400 cars and 400 two-wheelers, which gives a sigh of relief given the parking problem around Thamel area. Similarly, the opening of mall also opens of opportunities for people looking to set up shops or find employment.
