Change of paid up capital of national level development banks at the end of Q1

There are total of 23 national level development banks. Of the 23 national level development banks, two have paid up capital above Rs.1 arba, ninteen have paid up capital between Rs.50 crores and Rs.1 billion and two have paid up capital below Rs.50 crores.

Total capital of the national level develoment banks changed by 12.90% and is at Rs.17.94 arba.

The average capital of the Development banks now stands at Rs.78.02 crore. This is an increase of 12.90 compared to last year.

Yeti development Bank Ltd. has the highest paid up capital among all the Development banks. Its paid up capital stands at Rs.1.38 arba. Its capital has not changed compared to last year.

The top 5 banks with highest paid up capital as of Q1 2072 are Yeti Development Bank Ltd., Kailash Bikash Bank Ltd., Business Universal Development Bank Ltd., Jyoti Bikash bank Ltd., and  Vibor Bikash Bank Ltd.

The greatest change is paid up capital has been of Fewa Bikash bank. Its capital increased by 126.50 %. This is closely followed by Triveni Bikas Bank Ltd (TBBL) with 99.97% increase in capital.

The top 5 development banks accounted for approximately one third of the total capital of the national level development banking sector.

The paid up capital of 16 development banks has increased this quarter as compared to the same period last year. However, paid up capital of Gurkha Development Bank (Nepal) Ltd., has decreased. The paid up capital of 6 development banks remained unchanged.
