Central bank lowers transaction limit through ATM card; Limit dropped from Rs.1 lakh to Rs.60K per day

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a notice regarding the new transaction limits for debit card (ATM card).

The transaction limit previously was Rs 25,000 per transaction and Rs 1 lakh per day. However, now the new limit has been set at Rs 20,000 per transaction and Rs 60,000 per day.

This change has been prompted by the recent robbery incident involving a group of Chinese hackers.

The circular has been sent to all the Bank and Financial Institution by Central bank on Thursday for implementation.
