Budget brings volatility in the market; NEPSE index swinging throughout the day

Market remains volatile after FM changed CGT and abolished VAT on broker commission. Investors are cautious about this decision and are in wait & watch mood till further devlopement.

After the increment of CGT, investors were expecting big downward movement; considering budget announcements, market seems positive even though NEPSE closed in red.

NEPSE index has declined today by 3.99 points or 0.3%. The market today had opened at 1,227.21 points and went through large fluctuations, leading index to close in the red zone.

Total turnover worth of the day was Rs 43.29 crore as more than 7.89 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 4,891 transactions.

Sana Kisan Bikas Bank (SKBBL) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 4.42 crore worth of shares were traded.

Sanima Mai Hydropower had top in case of number of shares traded as 61,645 unit shares were exchanged.

The top gainer for the day is Unnati Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha(UMB) whose price increased by 3.97% closing at Rs. 1,309.

Mega Bank (MEGA) was the top loser of the day losing 9.88% on its price.

The sub-indices for Finance, insurance and Microfinance sectors inclined and landed in green zone. Similarly, the subindices for rest of the sectors declined and landed in the red zone.

The trading sector lost the most today tumbling by 2.28% points; Microfinance sector was the top gainer with 0.25% increment.
