Best Finance Launches Green Savings Scheme, Plants 600 Trees in Lalitpur
Best Finance Company Limited has introduced a 'Green Savings' deposit scheme in line with the Nepal Rastra Bank’s Nepal Green Finance Taxonomy, 2024, aimed at promoting green finance and environmental sustainability.
Under the scheme, the company commits to planting one tree for every account holder. As part of the initiative, Best Finance, in collaboration with the Mahat Gaun Sallaghari Community Forest Users Committee and with support from the Lalitpur District Forest Office, planted 600 saplings in Sectors A, B and C of the community forest in Godawari Municipality-5, Lalitpur.
The community forest users committee will be responsible for the maintenance, protection and management of the planted trees for at least five years, including replacing any trees that die.
More than 120 people, including Best Finance officials and employees, government forest officials, local representatives, students, community forest users and residents, participated in the plantation program. The initiative is expected to contribute to biodiversity conservation, carbon absorption, watershed protection and climate-change mitigation, while promoting the concept of “One Savings, One Tree, Green Future.”
