Banker’s Association gets new VP; Mr. Anukul Bhatnakar from Nepal SBI to the helm

The meeting of working Committee of Nepal Bankers’ Association has appointed Mr. Anukul Bhatnakar in the position of vice-president. Mr. Bhatnakar is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Nepal SBI bank. The appointment of Mr. Anukul Bhatnakar to the vacant position of VP came on Tuesday. The position has been lying vacant after the Ex-VP Mr. Gyanendra Dhungana was elevated to the position of NBA president. The recently held AGM of the umbrella organization of the bankers had dissolved the earlier provision of 2 VPs sighting the lack of interest among the bankers for the position. In recent days, it was being felt that the Bankers’ Association hasn’t been getting leaders from the banks with foreign partners. Add to that, the strong association of the bankers has also been facing criticism for not being able to play constructive role in banking industry and to put forward new initiatives with the regulators. Against all these backdrops, Mr. Bhatnagar has been appointed to the position of VP in order to accommodate the leader from one of the oldest and experienced banks, informed one of the bankers.
