Bank of Kathmandu profit declines by 0.47%; Major indicators dwindle

Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) net profit has declined by 0.47% in Q2 of the fiscal year 2072/73.The commercial bank earned Rs. 32.91 crore in the second quarter this fiscal year. The net profit was Rs. 33.07 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The net interest spread rate has declined to 3.31% from 4.06% of second quarter last fiscal year. Publishing the unaudited financial report for Q2 today, the commercial bank’s deposit collection increased to Rs.41.81 arba from Rs. 34.15 arba in Q2 last year. It extended loans of Rs. 32.28 arba, rising from Rs. 30.60 arba of the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The commercial bank’s net interest income reached to Rs. 69.71 crore, down from Rs 70.19 crore in Q2. The Bank’s paid up capital remains at Rs. 2.67 arba and has a reserve of Rs. 1.51 arba. The commercial bank has an operating profit of Rs.50 crore.
