The amendment in Land Act been approved by both of the Houses with the majority.
Answering the question raised for the bill, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty alleviation, Padma Kumari Aryal, explained, "We are heading forward keeping major focus on the solution for the problems of landless people, Slum dwellers, unmanaged residents addressing political and social justice.
The amendment also allows the Ministry to form a committee to carry out surveys and supervise the ownership and usage of land. This committee will see if any agricultural farm has acquired licence for land above the limit given. Similarly, they will also survey if ay organization (Factory) is using the land for different purpose than what it was leased for.
