98% of total construction completed of Univeral Power Comapny Limited's project; How did UPCL earn profit till this quarter?

Universal Power Company Limited (UPCL) published its first quarter report of FY 2077/2078 with a decline in net profit to Rs. 1.97 crores. The company’s profit declined by 28.50% in this quarter compared to corresponding quarter of previous year.

The paid-up capital of the company stood at Rs. 2.10 Arba whereas reserve and surplus stood at Rs. 11.24 crores.

According to the management, 98% total construction of Tallo Khare Khola Jalabidhyut Aayojana (11 MW) has been completed which is why the company has not generated revenue in this quarter. Going forward, the company is studying Upper Inkhu Khola Jalabidhyut Aayojana (24.22 MW) and the company has signed an agreement to build Kasuwa Khola Jalabidhyut Aayojana (45 MW).

The company’s earned a total of Rs. 1.68 crores from its investment in fixed deposit and shares worth Rs. 1.01 Arba. The company earned a net profit of Rs. 1.09 crores in this quarter.

The company reported an annualized EPS of Rs. 2.09 and net worth per share of Rs. 105.35. the company traded at a P/E multiple of 61.23 times.
