3 Days Continues Heavy Rains and Flood Disrupt Power Generation at 9.6 MW Daramkhola Hydroelectric Project

Power generation and transmission at the 9.6 MW Daramkhola Hydroelectric Project in Baglung have come to a complete halt following flood induced damage.

According to an official notice issued by Daramkhola Hydro Energy Limited to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Ashwin 12, 2083, heavy flooding on Friday, Ashwin 9, damaged transmission infrastructure. The flood damaged electric poles and cables along the 33 kV transmission line connecting the project's switchyard to the Nepal Electricity Authority's (NEA) Harichaur substation. Consequently, electricity generation and supply were shut down after 8:00 PM on Friday, Ashwin 9.

The company confirmed that key project infrastructure including the headworks and powerhouse remains undamaged. Power generation will resume as soon as repair works on the transmission line are completed.
