YANGWANG U9 Track Edition Sets New Global EV Speed Record at 472.41 km/h
YANGWANG, BYD’s high-end EV sub-brand, set a new global electric vehicle speed record of 472.41 km/h with its U9 Track Edition at Germany’s ATP test track on August 8, 2025. The supercar features the innovative e 4 Platform and DiSus-X Intelligent Body Control System, including a quad-motor system delivering over 3,000PS and advanced torque-vectoring for unmatched stability.
The U9 Track Edition also uses high-performance track-focused tires developed with Giti Tire to maximize grip and durability. German driver Marc Basseng, who held the previous EV speed record, piloted the car. This achievement highlights YANGWANG’s fusion of cutting-edge technology, safety, and performance, redefining the sustainable supercar segment.
