Weather Update: Cloudy Conditions and Rainfall Expected in Multiple Provinces

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has provided the following weather update:

Expect generally to mostly cloudy conditions throughout the country with the likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. The affected areas include Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, and Lumbini Province, where rain is expected in many places. In the remaining provinces, there is a chance of rain in some areas as well. Additionally, heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible at a few locations within Koshi Province, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province, and Lumbini Province.

Tonight, the cloud cover will persist across the country, bringing the potential for light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Many areas of Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province, and Sudur Pashchim Province are likely to experience rain. In a few places in other provinces, there may also be rainfall. Some areas of Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, and Sudur Pashchim Province could see heavy to very heavy precipitation.

Currently, the country is under the influence of monsoon winds, bringing moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal. This weather pattern is resulting in the prevailing cloudy conditions and rainfall across the affected provinces.
