Weather Forecast Warns of Cloudy Skies, Rain, and Snowfall Across Several Provinces

The Weather Forecasting Division has predicted changes in weather conditions across various parts of the country today, noting that Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds.

According to the Division, this afternoon is expected to be generally cloudy in the Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces. Partly cloudy conditions will prevail in the hilly regions of the remaining provinces, while most parts of the Terai region are likely to experience mainly fair weather.

The forecast also indicates that some areas of Sudurpashchim Province may receive moderate rainfall. In addition, light snowfall is possible in the high mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces.

Similarly, during the night, weather conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies.

The Division has warned that moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in some areas of Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpashchim, and parts of Gandaki Province. There is also a possibility of moderate snowfall with thunderstorms in the high, hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces.

In view of the potential impacts of changing weather conditions, the Weather Forecasting Division has urged the public to take necessary precautionary measures. The Division cautioned that adverse weather may affect daily life, tourism activities, health services, as well as air and surface transportation.
