US Congressional Delegation Meets Speaker Aryal, Discusses Economic Partnership and Climate Cooperation

Speaker of Nepal’s House of Representatives, Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal, held a courtesy meeting with a US congressional delegation led by Jason Smith, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, on Sunday.

During the meeting, both sides discussed Nepal-US relations, economic cooperation, investment opportunities, climate-related disasters, and parliamentary cooperation. Speaker Aryal thanked the United States for its support following the floods in Rasuwa and Bhotekoshi and stressed the need for stronger international cooperation to reduce disaster risks and improve preparedness.

Aryal also called for expanding Nepal-US relations beyond traditional grant assistance toward greater investment and economic partnerships. The US delegation expressed sympathy for the flood victims and reaffirmed its willingness to support Nepal’s economic, social, infrastructure, and human development while strengthening parliamentary ties between the two countries.
