SEBON issues new instructions to CDS and Clearing and C-ASBA partners; hassles encountered during C-ASBA application expected to go away soon

Securities Board of Nepal, to address the complains from the investors regarding connectivity issues and system failures while operating online via ones’ C-ASBA service, has instructed the CDS and Clearing and other C-ASBA implementation partners to undertake necessary steps to resolve the problems.
After the instruction from SEBON, CDS and Clearing as well as other C-ASBA partners are expected to upgrade the capacity of C-ASBA platform in order to be able to handle more number of users at the same time. moreover, the BFIs who are the member of C-ASBA network are expected to block the money equivalent to the application immediately after making an application.
Moreover, such C-ASBA members have also been asked to conduct regular investor awareness programs to educate the investors about effective handling of the available service. Next, the board has also asked such institutions to conduct training programs for their employees so as to make them empowered to handle the customers having issues with their C-ASBA applications.
