RSP Wave Across Nepal: Leading Two-Thirds of 165 Seats, Wins Key Kathmandu Constituencies

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is emerging as the dominant force in the ongoing election, currently leading in more than 100 constituencies, which is around two-thirds of the 165 constituencies under the FPTP system. The party has already secured three confirmed victories in Kathmandu, with Ranju Darshana winning from Kathmandu Constituency-1, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha from Kathmandu Constituency-8, and Shisir Khanal from Kathmandu Constituency-6. Several other RSP candidates are also leading with significant margins, including Balendra Shah in Jhapa-5, Rajib Khatry in Bhaktapur-2, Aashika Tamang in Dhading-1, Amresh Singh in Sarlahi-4, Pukar Bam in Kathmandu-4, and Sulav Kharel in Rupandehi-2. Meanwhile, Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) from the Nepal Communist Party (Star) has secured a victory from Rukum East-1. Other major parties are also in the race with, with Communist Party of Nepal (UML) leading in 10+ constituencies and Nepali Congress also leading in 10+ constituencies. Vote counting is still ongoing across the country, and more results are expected as the counting continues.
