The government has prepared to pass the budget without amendments. The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting scheduled for today at 11 am has a possible agenda for passing the budget.

Today, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' will address the questions raised during the discussion on various topics concerning the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the Secretariat of the National Planning Commission, the Office of the President, and the Office of the Vice President.

Subsequently, the Parliament Secretariat has released the potential work list for passing the budget, following the presentation of proposals for cost reduction to be decided upon.

On Jestha 15, Finance Minister Mahat presented a budget of Rs. 17 Kharba 51 Arba 31 crore for the upcoming financial year 2080-81. The leaders of the ruling party demanded amendments, citing discrimination in the budget. However, it is no longer possible to amend the budget, and thus it is ready to be passed.

The top leaders of the CPN United Socialists (CPN-US) had previously made public statements that they would not allow the budget to pass without amendments. Yet, according to the party's vice president, Rajendra Pandey, was quoted as stating that he is in favor of passing the budget with integrated socialist conditions. Metmani Chaudhary, another party leader, has also been quoted as stating that he will vote in favor of the budget.

Earlier, the Nepali Congress, CPN Maoist Centre, and other parties issued whips to vote in favor of the budget.
