People's Power Limited Halts Operations Following Flood and Landslide Damage

People's Power Limited has temporarily suspended electricity production at its Puwa 2 Hydropower Project (4.96 MW) after heavy rainfall triggered floods and landslides, causing damage to multiple structures in the project’s headworks area. The company reported that continuous high water levels in the Puwa Khola have prevented a detailed assessment and valuation of the damage so far.

Due to these exceptional circumstances, the project remains non-operational, and electricity generation has been completely halted. People’s Power Limited has assured stakeholders that restoration efforts will commence once the situation stabilizes and further information regarding the extent of damage will be shared in due course.
