NRB to Invest Rs 6.34 Billion in BFIs as Fixed Deposits

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to invest Rs 6.34 billion in fixed deposits of bank and financial institutions (BFIs). For this, the central bank has urged interested BFIs to propose interest rates by March 1 at 12 pm.

According to the central bank, the fixed deposits will be placed for a period of 366 days from March 13, 2026 to February 13, 2027.

Of the total amount, Rs 5.73 billion has been allocated for commercial banks, Rs 951.2 million for national-level development banks, and Rs 317 million for national-level finance companies.
