NRB calls bids on development bond worth Rs 5 arba

Nepal Rastra Bank has published a notice announcing a development bond with a maturity period of 5 years named “Development Bond 2077 Ka.”

As per the notice published on Jestha 11, the interest on the development bond worth Rs 5 arba will be fixed through auction.

The last date to file the sealed bids for the bond has been fixed for Jestha 14, 2072 by 3pm. The sealed bids can be submitted at the NRB’s Public Debt Management Department, Thapathali, Kathmandu or at the bank’s branches outside the Valley.

The sealed bids will be opened on Jestha 14, 2072.

The auction form for the development bond is available at the bank’s website http://www.nrb.org.np.

The pay out of principal and interest amount under the bond will start from Jestha 17, 2077. The interest payout will take place in a half-yearly basis and the interest earned will be taxable.   

Interested parties can file for bonds worth minimum Rs 50,000 and maximum bonds worth an amount not exceeding the size of total issue and divisible by 50,000 without remainder.

Commercial banks, finance companies, non-banking financial companies, any organizations and individual Nepali citizens are eligible to apply for the bond.
