Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has temporarily increased the daily limit on the number of deposits that can be made into an individual’s digital wallet from 10 to 50 transactions during the upcoming festive periods.

According to the Payment Systems Department of NRB, the temporary provision will apply during Dashain from Ashwin 31 to Kartik 8, 2083, and during Tihar and Chhath from Kartik 21 to Kartik 29, 2083.

Under the regular provision of the Integrated Directive on Payment Systems, a natural person’s wallet can receive deposits through a maximum of 10 transactions per day. The temporary relaxation has been introduced to facilitate increased digital transactions during the festive season.

NRB has also directed concerned payment service providers to submit details of the number of transactions and total transaction amount conducted under the temporary provision during the specified periods to its Payment Systems Department.
