NEPSE Index Surges By 33.27 Points on First Trading Day of 2083; Intraday Turnover Stood at 10.53 Arba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a double-digit gain today, inclining by 33.27 points (1.17%) to settle at 2,866.87. This comes after a minimal loss of 4.18 points in the previous trading session.

The benchmark index opened at 2,834.5 and reached an intraday high of 2,879.21, while the day’s low stood at 2,834.31. Total turnover for the day amounted to Rs. 10.53 Arba, with 26,438,521 shares traded across 344 companies through 123,359 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 48.89 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 16.30 Kharba.


SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) topped the turnover chart, recording transactions worth Rs. 58.09 crores. The company’s stock closed at Rs. 708.00.

 

In today’s trading session, six companies hit the positive circuit limit of 10%, including RLEL, SKHEL, HFIN, SINDU, PCIL, and SKHL.


Meanwhile, Reliance Spinning Mills Limited (RSML) recorded the Highest fall, falling by 5.61%.

 

All sectors closed in green. Among sectors, the Hotels And Tourism Index registered the highest gain, gaining 3.16%, while the Others Index and Manufacturing And Processing recorded the least gain at 0.11%.
