NEPSE Index Spikes Up By 38.52 Points on Last Trading Day Before March 5 Election

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a gain today on the last trading day of this week, gaining by 38.52 points (1.44%) to settle at 2,712.49. This follows a 19.27 point gain on March 1, 2026.
The benchmark index opened at 2,691.71, touching an intraday high of 2,712.60 and a low of 2,666.05. Total turnover for the day reached Rs. 6.23 arba, with 15,184,607 shares traded across 329 companies through 61,329 transactions. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 45.63 kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 15.57 Kharba.

Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company Ltd (AKJCL) topped the turnover chart, amounting to Rs. 34.65 crores. The stock closed at Rs. 371.90.

Salapa Bikas Bank Limited (SABBL) led the gainer list with 9.99% change in its price. The stock closed at Rs. 707.10.

Shuvam Power Limited (SPL) recorded a drop, falling by 2.53% change in its price. The stock closed at Rs 707.60.

Among the sectors, HydroPower Index witnessed a highest gain by 2.13%, while Trading Index recorded a highest loss by 0.88%.
